Lecture to explore provision of services to Indigenous children

A study of services provided to First Nations children who come into contact with the child welfare system is the subject of a free public lecture Tuesday, November 13, in the main foyer of Windsor Hall.

Vandna Sinha, an associate professor in the School of Social Work at McGill University, will deliver “The Impact of Child Welfare Policies on Indigenous Children’s Access to Services” at 2:30 p.m. Those interested in attending are required to RSVP by October 29 to sswevents@uwindsor.ca.

Dr. Sinha focuses her research on the impact of social policies on children’s access to services and on the abilities of marginalized families and communities to care for children. She is currently working with a national research team and advisory committee to plan the First Nations Incidence Study of Reported Child Abuse and Neglect 2019.

Windsor Hall is located at 167 Ferry Street.
