Transgender advocate to discuss movement goals

The founder of W.E. Trans Support will offer insights on transgender advocacy and the future goals of transgender activists and their allies in a free public presentation on the UWindsor campus Monday, Nov. 19.

Jayce Carver will lead “Trans Talk” on the eve of the Trans Day of Remembrance, an annual observance on Nov. 20. The event is hosted by the Women’s and Gender Studies program and the students the course “Queer Activism.”

The Trans Support agency provides services, resources, and activities to enhance the well-being of transgender, gender queer, two spirited, gender non-binary, and gender questioning communities and their families.

Monday’s talk will begin at 4 p.m. in the Alumni Auditorium, CAW Student Centre. Organizers encourage attendees to bring non-perishable food items or personal care products for donation to the W.E. Trans food bank. Find more information on the Facebook event page.
