Book launch to open labour arts festival

The 2019 MayWorks Windsor festival will open with the launch of a book documenting its 10-year history, Monday, April 29, at the Arts Council Windsor Region.

MayWorks Windsor: A Decade of Work is a record of the exhibitions, performances, innovative projects, and symposia making up the celebration of labour, arts, and community.

Professor emerita Susan Gold Smith, one of the festival’s organizers, edited the book along with visual arts alumna Elaine Carr. Josephine Hazen (BFA 1985) designed the publication, available for purchase for $10.

Monday’s launch reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the council’s offices at 1942 Wyandotte St. E.

The festival continues through the month; find a full listing of events on the MayWorks Windsor website.
