Charity supporters cheer United Way colours

A virtual raising of the United Way flag outside Chrysler Hall Tower signalled the start of the charity’s campus fundraising drive Monday.

UWindsor faculty and staff joined United Way officials for the online event. In addition to remarks from campaign volunteers, it featured a video testimonial from a beneficiary of the On Track to Success program, which prepares local youths for post-secondary education.

Bridget Aguilar, pension administrator in human resources, won a free day’s vacation in a draw for attendees.

Organizers ask staff and faculty to watch for a solicitation in their email inboxes in the form of an electronic pledge form from the United Way, and to contribute if they are able.

Supporting employees who submit their pledge forms by Nov. 26 are eligible for an additional draw offering two more chances to win an extra vacation day.
