Alumna to take reins of University’s fundraising team

A two-time UWindsor alumna, Shae Harasym (BA 2010, JD 2013) has deep experience with the institution, making her a perfect choice to head up its fundraising, Vincent Georgie, acting associate vice-president, external, said Thursday in announcing her appointment as director of advancement, effective Jan. 3.

“We are so excited to have Shae on board,” said Dr. Georgie. “This is a critical time in our work to secure the resources to make our student experience the best possible. Shae’s skills will help us succeed in this important work.”

Harasym joined the UWindsor staff in 2015 as co-ordinator of the Annual Giving Program, moving in 2017 to major gift officer in the Faculty of Law, where she spearheaded a $6 million capital campaign and secured the largest gift in Windsor Law’s history. She currently serves on the board of the Windsor chapter of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and Essex Law Association.

In her new role, she will provide strategic oversight of advancement operations, including the overall direction, planning, policy development, management, and co-ordination of services supporting the University’s fundraising activities.
