Spring courses in Continuing Education are open for registration

Continuing Education provides learning opportunities for refreshing or expanding industry-specific skills. With a wide variety of offerings available, these courses are the perfect way to gain an edge in competitive roles. They are also ideal for those wishing to pursue a new career or are working towards career advancement. Continuing Education classes remain online for the spring and are open for registration.

As restrictions lift, there will be an increased need for skilled project managers to take the lead on complex projects that were put on hold due to the pandemic. The Accelerated Project Management Certificate is ideal for all disciplines and skill levels. This certificate consists of two levels, the Level I Project Management Essentials course which serves as a prerequisite to the Level II Core Courses. This program is delivered in partnership with Procept Associates Ltd, an authorized partner of Project Management Institute. Classes start April 27. The Arrhythmia and 12 Lead Interpretation Workshop returns this April. This full-day workshop is designed for those who have experience in basic Lead II ECG interpretation and wish to learn how to analyze and interpret 12 lead ECGs. This workshop is designed for healthcare professionals or senior students (nursing or medical) who already have a basic understanding of arrhythmia interpretation and wish to learn more about 12 Lead ECG interpretation. Refresh or expand your skills with this class on April 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion have become an essential part of a progressive, inclusive, and innovative workplace culture. This makes it crucial for professionals to further their knowledge around issues of race, ethnicity, equity, systemic and interpersonal racism. The Fundamentals of Anti-Black Racism is an 18-hour course developed in collaboration with the University of Windsor’s Office of the Vice-President, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Learners will be able to identify promising strategies to address anti-Black racism within society and the workplace, while developing increased awareness of unconscious bias, prejudice, and microaggressions. Space is still available. Classes are on Thursdays, from April 14 to May 19, at 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. A third section has been added and takes place on Tuesdays, May 10 to June 14, at 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

In a heavily digitized world, there is also an increased need for professionals skilled in cybersecurity. Award-winner and industry expert Ikjot Saini teaches the Certificate in Cybersecurity, which covers fundamental topics in cybersecurity or information security. Learners will participate live, online, and interactive classes to understand threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities, the architecture and design of a system, effective implementation of security solutions, incident response and governance, and risk and compliance. Content of this course is mapped with the CompTIA Security + curriculum for those who are interested in pursuing the certification. Classes start May 11.

In Digital Marketing, the first of three courses in the E-Commerce certificate, learners will become well-versed in various digital marketing channels and strategies, to optimize their online presence. The course will cover e-mail and content marketing, display and video marketing, search engine marketing and optimization, and social media. Other e-commerce courses are being offered in the Fall: E-Commerce Business Strategy, and Website Tools for Online Sales. Classes are on Thursdays, 6 to 9 p.m., starting May 19.
