Signing signals renewal of medical school affiliation

The University of Windsor and Western University recommitted Thursday to an affiliation agreement for the operation of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Campus for another 10 years.

The first affiliation agreement led to the opening of the Windsor Campus in September 2008. Since then, the program has expanded to include postgraduate residents who train in Windsor, the first stages of the development of a research program, an enhanced role in helping to improve healthcare delivery in the community, and a greater role in faculty affairs.

Former dean of law takes on role as acting associate VP academic

Jeff Berryman, Distinguished University Professor in the Faculty of Law and dean of the faculty from 1990-95, will take on the position of acting associate vice-president academic through 2016, beginning January 1. Berryman, who has taught at Windsor Law for 35 years, succeeds Bruce Tucker, who will retire at the end of 2015.

In announcing the appointment, provost Douglas Kneale said he is “delighted” Berryman accepted the position.
