Reading to feature writer-in-residence with music and collage

Writer-in-residence Alan Davies will read from his work at a free public reading, 8 p.m. tonight – Thursday, October 20 – at Phog Lounge.

English professor Louis Cabri, the evening’s host, describes Davies’ poetry as “an extraordinary and vibrant arc of innovative writing and thinking that spans three decades of social and formal change.”

Besides reading his work, Davies will discuss dimensions of his poetry and thought. He has selected music to play before and after his presentation – Alfred Schnittke’s Piano Quintets – and will project on the wall images of collages he has made.

Phog Lounge is located at 157 University Avenue West.
