Laura Robinson, the 2011 Distinguished Visitor in Women’s Studies, has a busy schedule of appearances on- and off-campus during her one-week visit to Windsor.

She will address students at Vincent Massey Secondary School on the topic Finding your voice as a journalist on Friday morning and return to campus for a public presentation entitled Challenging Walmart in your hometown: The satisfactions and consequences of organizing to stop Walmart building in Saugeen Shores, at 3 p.m. in the Rose Room, Vanier Hall.

Saturday she has organized Girlympics, a chance for young athletes to meet local stars for sport instruction or to accelerate their skill levels, at 4 p.m. in the College Avenue Community Centre. Robinson will participate in the Take Back the Night rally and march starting at 8 p.m. in Dieppe Park at foot of Ouellette Avenue.

A three-time Ontario cycling champion, she will conduct a Cycling clinic to provide riding tips and bike repairs to women and girls who love to cycle. The clinic runs 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ojibway Nature Centre; a bike ride will follow. The Ojibway Nature Centre is located at 5200 Matchette Road on Windsor’s west side.
