#2011-NU-25 Legal Assistant, Department of Legal Services
Reporting to the Director of Legal Services, the Legal Assistant will undertake independently numerous administrative communication and compilation duties of the office and will perform a variety of tasks directed to relieve the Director of routine daily responsibilities. The Legal Assistant will also provide administrative support in the area of insurance and risk management. The successful candidate will have a Legal Office Administration diploma, and a minimum of three (3) years of legal administrative experience including effective and comprehensive support within a legal office environment. The candidate will have demonstrated ability in working with sensitive and highly confidential matters, as well as possess excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to exercise independent initiative and to remain professional in all situations is also essential. The successful candidate must also have the ability to demonstrate a high degree of competency and integrity, as well as, outstanding organizational skills. Oral and written communication and office skills are required, as is the ability to be accurate despite time sensitive deadlines. The successful candidate must be highly proficient with desktop applications and knowledge and experience with the implementation of legal and financial policies. Budgetary experience would be an asset.
