University Bookstore to show appreciation for student clientele

The University Bookstore will extend a discount to all UWindsor students on Monday, December 5, in celebration of Student Appreciation Day and Residence Night.

Just show your student card to receive a 10 percent discount on everything in the store except textbooks, computers, software, magazines and gift cards. The savings even apply atop ongoing sales that reduce giftware and board games by 10 percent, and sale books by 50 percent.

In addition, the store will remain open until 7 p.m. for residence night.

“For the last hour, we invite residence students to drop by for some Christmas cheer – hot apple cider and cookies,” says marketing manager Martin Deck. “They also have a chance at earning an extra discount and winning some freebies.”

The Bookstore also offers all its customers free gift-wrapping, and Deck offers several recommendations for holiday shoppers.

“Skullcandy headphones are a very popular gift idea for this holiday; they come in unique colours for both genders. For the holidays we also just received variety of headphones that are eco-friendly,” he says.

In addition, the Bookstore carries Apple electronics, including iPad tablets, iPod portable music players, and MacBook notebook computers that are $100 off the retail price for students.

Deck points to some family-friendly products: “We have many mugs for moms and dads, movies starting at only $4.99, and many popular board games such as the Clue office edition.”
