2012-FT-03 Ring/Customer Service Clerk ‘4’ (temporary for approximately nine months) in the University Bookstore
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday  10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Reporting to the Manager of the University Bookstore, the Ring/Customer Service Clerk is the primary person staffing the main floor of the Bookstore. The Ring/Customer Service Clerk’s main purpose is to help customers, answer questions and lookout for shoplifting. The incumbent also functions as a backup cashier during breaks, lunches, or absences of the regular cashier, as well as, whenever there are long line-ups at the cash register. The incumbent also assists the other main floor clerks in receiving, ticketing, stocking and merchandising general merchandise stock as needed. The Ring/Customer Service Clerk is responsible for the selling, ordering, tracking and receiving of graduation rings and for maintaining an ongoing analysis of ring sales. The successful candidate will have a High school diploma, excellent math skills as well as excellent customer service skills. Good computer skills, including knowledge of Excel and Word, are essential. Previous retail experience and ability to do heavy lifting is also necessary. Testing: Math test, MS Excel (basic) and MS Word (basic).
