Political scientist appointed to head inter-faculty programs

Martha Lee, a professor of political science and acting dean of the Faculty of Education, has accepted a three-year appointment as assistant provost, inter-faculty programs, provost Leo Groarke announced Wednesday.

“I think this is an important appointment for the University, especially in the wake of the review of interdisciplinary programming and research completed by Dr. Anne Forrest, Dr. Darren Stanley, and Dr. Phil Graniero,” said Dr. Groarke. “Dr. Lee will be working to further some of the goals and changes this report recommended. More generally, she will be working with faculty in inter-faculty programs, and across the campus, to promote interdisciplinary programs and research.”

He thanked Michael Salter for his stewardship of the programs over the last five years, and encouraged all faculty interested in interdisciplinary studies and research to talk to Dr. Lee.

A former associate dean in the Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Lee is the author most recently of Conspiracy Rising: Conspiracy Thinking and American Public Life.
