Entrepreneur to offer tips on auditioning for Dragons’ Den program

UWindsor drama grad Mark Lefebvre (BFA 1988) has been in the Dragons’ Den and survived. The co-owner of the Stilt Guys entertainment troupe, he appeared in October on the CBC television program, which allows entrepreneurs to pitch business ideas to a group of investors.

Lefebvre will share his experiences, from auditions to television, during an informal lunch event hosted by Windsor’s WEtech Alliance, the Accelerator and the Small Business Centre on Tuesday, January 15.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with other local entrepreneurs, as well as enjoy a free pizza lunch. Advance registration is required; register at www.out2lunch.eventbrite.com.

This session is open to anyone looking for an opportunity to learn more about what to expect from Dragons’ Den, which is holding open auditions in Windsor on January 24, one of 40 stops across the country.

The auditions run 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, 2575 Ouellette Place. No experience is necessary; all interested entrepreneurs should be prepared to pitch their business in less than five minutes. If they can convince producers they are ready for their 15 minutes of fame, they could be invited to brave the dragons face-to face when the upcoming season is filmed in Toronto.

Dragons’ Den is the highest rated Canadian unscripted program on television, with an average audience of over 1.4 million viewers each week.
