You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you won’t believe what a great deal you’re getting. As the University Players opens its 2013-14 season this weekend they promise hysterical comedy, poignant drama, thrilling mystery and theatrical fantasy – all featuring tomorrow’s leading theatre artists at ticket prices that can’t be beat.

The new season opens Sept. 19 with the farcical comedy Suite Surrender, which runs through Sept. 26. Other comedies on offer by the Players this year include Oscar Wilde’s A Woman of No Importance, and Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, by Oscar-winning writer Alan Ball.

The season’s mystery, A Party to Murder, draws inspiration from the work of Agatha Christie,  and a very theatrical adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fable Sleeping Beauty is the troupe’s holiday season performance for all ages. The season will close with Chekhov’s beloved drama Three Sisters.
