History student finds practical application for research skills

Kathleen Best knows her history. The third-year history student won this week’s DailyNews quiz contest and its fabulous prize of a beautiful crewneck sweatshirt.

Her entry was drawn from all those which correctly identified some facts about past UWindsor presidents: Eugene Carlisle LeBel served as chaplain of the Essex Scottish Regiment; J. Francis Leddy helped to found Canadian University Service Overseas; Mervyn Franklin was a trained pilot; Ron Ianni (BA 1957) was a graduate of Assumption University; Ross Paul was a national governor of the Shaw Theatre Festival.

To help celebrate the University of Windsor’s 50th anniversary, DailyNews will run a contest at the beginning of each week, offering a prize donated by the University Bookstore. This week’s prize, a beautiful grey sweatshirt with the University’s logo imprinted in blue, is also available for purchase from the Bookstore kiosk in the CAW Student Centre at a cost of $29.95.
