Pope John Paul II called for the Roman Catholic church to undertake an evangelization defined by new methods, ardour and expression. What this means in practice is the subject of a free public presentation Monday by Richard Smith, Archbishop of Edmonton.

A former president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, Rev. Smith will offer his perspective on the challenges and opportunities posed in the current Canadian context.

Part of the Christian Culture Series, “What does the new evangelization ask of us in Canada?” is set for 7:30 p.m. May 12 in Assumption University’s Freed-Orman Centre.
