Windsor families who billet Japanese students this summer will have an opportunity to create lifelong friendships, says a UWindsor staffer.

International student advisor Enrique Chacon serves on the board of directors of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County. The organization is helping to recruit host families for Japanese youths between 16 and 17 years old, who will attend a weekday program at Walkerville Collegiate Institute from July 27 to August 9.

“These students are looking forward to spending evenings and weekends with their hosts, learning more about Canadian customs and sharing something of their culture,” says Chacon. “It’s a wonderful chance for Windsorites to get an international experience right in their own homes.”
