Board of Governors chair to address water rights in gala keynote

Water is life. Jennifer Jones—Rotary International director, president of Media Street Productions and chair of the UWindsor Board of Governors—believes it is a basic human right, yet an estimated 2 million people die every year from water related diseases, and more than a billion lack access to clean water and proper sanitation.

Jones will share her thoughts on water, human rights, peace and a special water endowment that she and her husband have initiated to stimulate social consciousness and action as the keynote speaker during a gala October 28 to support Canterbury College. The college is the Anglican Church affiliate with the University.

The gala begins at 6 p.m. at the Fogolar Furlan Club, 1800 North Service Road. Tickets are $90 per person, $700 for a table of eight. To reserve your seat, phone 519-253-3000, ext. 4955, by October 20 or visit the college’s website.
