Presentation to challenge myths about sexual violence

Julie Lalonde will discuss her work to equip bystanders with strategies for safe and effective intervention against sexual assault in a free public presentation Tuesday, October 28.

The social justice advocate developed and manages draw-the-line.ca, a campaign of the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres.

Her presentation, entitled “Drawing the Line on Sexual Violence,” runs 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. in room 1121, Neal Education Building. It is part of the 2014 Distinguished Visitors in Women’s Studies program, which continues through November 7.

The centrepiece is the community keynote address by Shari Graydon and Julie Lalonde, “The Work of Feminist Activism,” scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, at the WFCU Centre. A free shuttle service will bring students to and from the event from Vanier Circle.
