Irish cuisine to grace St. Patrick’s Day menus

Campus food outlets will get in the spirit Tuesday, March 17, with special items to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

In the CAW Student Centre, the Marketplace will serve:

  • a lunch of a Reuben sandwich—sliced braised corned beef piled high on marble rye with sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and Swiss cheese–with side for $9.99, and
  • for dinner, braised corned beef with stout jus, braised cabbage and kale, and Irish champ (mashed potatoes with scallions) for $12.99.

The Crocodile Grill promises a couple of specialties each for breakfast and dinner.

From 7:45 a.m. to noon, it will offer:

  • a “green” smoothie of kale, pineapple, green apple, banana, fresh mint, almond and coconut milks for $4.50; and
  • corned beef hash with shredded potato, onion and green pepper, topped with two eggs any style and creamy hollandaise sauce, served with soda bread for $7.95.

Dinner from 7 to 11 p.m. will feature:

  • a grilled Reuben served with French fries for $9.99; and
  • braised corned beef and cabbage served with minted new potatoes, grainy mustard cream sauce and a soda bread roll for $12.99.

The Croc is located on the ground floor of Vanier Hall. Try a taste of the Emerald Isle!
