Job fair coming to campus Wednesday

Employers are looking for University of Windsor students and graduates to fill positions throughout Canada and beyond, and the job fair on campus Wednesday will help.

A joint effort between UWindsor Co-op, Career and Employment Services and St. Clair College, the job fair will take place January 20 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the St. Denis Centre.

This year, all 90 available exhibitor booths have been reserved by recruiters looking to fill full-time, part-time and summer positions and offer co-op and internship opportunities. Several career fields and disciplines will be represented.

“The job fair is your best opportunity in 2016 to get serious facetime with real industry professionals who are looking to hire students,” says Yvonne Currie, career development coordinator. “It’s a great chance to make meaningful connections and market your skills to local, national and international companies.”

Two additional services will be available to University of Windsor students: a professional photographer will be on hand to take complimentary LinkedIn photos, and career services staff will conduct “Practice Your Pitch” sessions to help jobseekers make the best possible impression.

Admission is free for students or alumni of either the University of Windsor or St. Clair College, with valid ID. Career and employment services encourages attendees to dress for success and bring several copies of their resumes.
