Women’s understanding of environmental breast cancer risks topic of lunchtime presentation

The Feminist Research Group is hosting a brown bag research conversation on the topic “Women’s Perceptions, Meanings, and Understandings of Environmental Breast Cancer Risks,” Monday, November 14.

Jane McArthur, a doctoral student of sociology, will examine how women who work in an environment with an identified risk of breast cancer construct meanings and understandings of this risk — and how they exercise agency in the acceptance, avoidance or negotiation of those risks.

The event is free and open to the campus community. It runs 1 to 2 p.m. in room 159, Chrysler Hall South. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunches.
