Discussion to present Islamic perspective on global conflict

Philosophy professor Jeff Noonan will discuss the war on terror and Donald Trump’s Islamophobia in the context of decades of Western intervention in the Middle East during a free public presentation Thursday in Alumni Hall’s McPherson Lounge.

These interventions have destabilized societies and led to hundreds of thousands of deaths across the region, Dr. Noonan says: “Understanding this historical context is essential for making reasoned political decisions that can help the cause of peace and self-determination.”

The event, presented by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Students Association, is titled “Islam and the New World Order” and will begin at 6 p.m. February 16. The association promises an Islamic perspective on solving global conflicts and achieving world peace.
