Joint venture to educate physician leaders in innovation

A new partnership between the World Health Innovation Network (WIN) and the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will build the leadership capacity needed to bring innovative technologies, products and models of care into the country’s health systems.

Based at the University of Windsor’s Odette School of Business, WIN is working with Joule, a CMA subsidiary that provides leadership in training to support physician-led innovation. Together, they are developing an executive education program for Canadian physician leaders to accelerate health system innovation in Canada.

Anne Snowdon, the network’s academic chair, calls the joint venture a win for Canada’s health system.

“Physicians play very important and unique roles as clinical innovators and leaders of transformative health system innovation,” says Dr. Snowdon. “Together, WIN and Joule have an important opportunity to achieve substantial impact of our collective efforts to accelerate innovation adoption and scalability across health systems to deliver value and strengthen health care outcomes for all Canadians and global populations.”

The partners will announce details of the new leadership program as they are finalized. Read more in the announcement, “Joule and the World Health Innovation Network unite to bolster impact of physician-led innovation in Canada.”
