Many health professionals have referred to prolonged sitting as the “new smoking” due to the health problems associated with sitting for long, uninterrupted periods of time.

The June edition of Workplace Wellness E-Digest, published by the UWindsor Department of Human Resources, explores the risks of spending too much time sitting. It also lists suggestions for add more movement into every day.
