University files for conciliation in negotiations with faculty

As the University of Windsor and the Windsor University Faculty Association continue to work towards reaching a new collective agreement, the University administration, after its 12th day of bargaining, has invited the faculty association to jointly file for conciliation in an effort to have available a conciliation officer appointed by the Ministry of Labour to assist the parties.

The faculty association has declined the University administration’s offer, indicating that its bargaining team is of the view that such an application would be premature.

The University in its commitment to doing all it can to reach an agreement that is fair and responsible for everyone within a timeframe that eases apprehensions, has proceeded with filing for conciliation and continues to remain confident that an agreement can be reached.
