A UWindsor music instructor is among the members of an ensemble that will perform in free public concerts along the county’s waterfront this weekend.
The Windsor Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet will feature oboist Faith Scholfield of the School of Creative Arts, as well as WSO Musicians Jean-François Rompre (Flute), Brad Cherwin (Clarinet), Julie Shier (Bassoon) and Iris Krizmanic (Horn).
The orchestra’s summer concert series will take them to the lakeside Colchester Harbour Park at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 26, and to Reaume Park, along Windsor’s riverfront at the foot of Pillette Road, at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 27.
The program will range from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro to the Maple Leaf Rag. Organizers encourage concertgoers to bring lawn chairs, blankets, even a picnic dinner to enjoy beside the water.
