Microsoft OneDriveA seminar October 12 will discuss using Microsoft OneDrive to collaborate on projects.

Seminars to provide professional development opportunities for employees

The Department of Human Resources has released a calendar of professional development sessions designed to enhance abilities, skills, and knowledge for which there is immediate and practical on-the-job application.

October’s schedule spans technical, interpersonal, and wellness-related subjects:

  • Collaborate Using OneDrive, October 12, 9 to 11 a.m.
OneDrive is a file-hosting service operated by Microsoft and included as part of UWindsor’s Office 365 services that allows users to access files from anywhere, on any device. This session will focus on how to use OneDrive to share files and collaborate on projects with colleagues.
  • Communicating with Tact and Diplomacy, October 19, 9 to 11 a.m.
Tact and diplomacy are critical for effective communication and service delivery. These skills are grounded on our ability to understand people and their needs. This session will explore techniques for communicating with tact and diplomacy in highly emotional, stressful situations.
  • Boosting Your Positive Outlook, October 24, 9 to 10 a.m.
Consistently focusing on the negative side of an issue can greatly contribute to stress. This session will help participants discover the ways in which seemingly-automatic negative thinking occurs, recognize its typical manifestations, and develop a process for tackling negative thoughts effectively.

The events are free and open to all UWindsor faculty and staff; find location and facilitator information on the registration page.

In order to provide more flexibility and opportunities for participation, each session is offered twice in the calendar year. Download a copy of the 2017-18 professional development calendar.
