A series of film screenings will feature antecedent works by the directors of the three most recent Star Wars movies.

The Windsor Film Society will open its Before Star Wars series on Thursday, February 1, by showing Looper, directed by Rian Johnson, who followed it with The Last Jedi. A discussion will follow the film.

The event is set for 7 p.m. at the Green Bean Café, 2320 Wyandotte Street West. Admission is $2. Subsequent screenings will follow:

• Godzilla by Gareth Edwards, director of Rogue One, on March 1;
• Super 8 by J.J. Abrams, director of The Force Awakens, April 5.
