Weekend concert to wind up wind ensemble season

The University Wind Ensemble will bring its 2017-18 season to close with its spring concert Sunday, April 8, at the Capitol Theatre.

Under the direction of professor Nicholas Papador and assistant conductor Bonnie Trealout, the more than 30 members of the student ensemble will treat audiences to a program that ranges from Edward Elgar’s 1899 “Nimrod” to Bert Appermont’s 1999 “Noah’s Ark.”

Alumni performers will take to the stage for a piece led by guest conductor Gillian MacKay, a professor of music at the University of Toronto and former director of the UWindsor School of Music.

The Capitol Theatre is located at 121 University Avenue West. Tickets are $15, with a student rate of $5. Find more information, including the complete program and a list of personnel, on the event website.
