saxophoneJazz is on the program for a concert Friday at the Capitol Theatre featuring the University Jazz Ensemble and the High School Honour Jazz Ensemble.

Concert to combine talents of university and high school musicians

A concert Friday, March 1, will feature performances by the University Jazz Ensemble and the High School Honour Jazz Ensemble, both under the direction of Robert Fazecash.

The high school ensemble provides music students at the secondary level a chance to perform in a high-calibre youth jazz band.

The works will range from Duke Ellington to Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock to Billie Holiday. Find a full program and list of musicians on the event website.

The show gets underway at 7:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 121 University Ave. W. Admission is $20 per person, $5 for students with ID. Tickets may be purchased in advance online with a credit card, or at the door with cash.
