A Faculty of Science event invites the local community to come dip their toes in water-related research.
From Field to Faucet is the latest in the Science on Tap series, and will showcase University of Windsor research on water quality issues affecting southwestern Ontario through mini-talks, student research posters, a Water Bar, and trivia.
“We invite the community to come out and join us for our latest event in the Science on Tap series,” says dean of science Chris Houser. “This is a great opportunity to learn about the ongoing research happening in the Faculty of Science and allows us an opportunity to highlight the great work being done in the discipline.”
Confirmed speakers include:
- Blake Vince, fifth-generation farmer, no-till pioneer
- Catherine Febria, GLIER, leading Healthy Headwaters program
- Mike McKay, GLIER, harmful algal blooms
- Kevin Jakubec, Water Wells First, ground water protection
- Joel Gagnon, EES, ground water
The event runs 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Walkerville Brewery. Tickets are $10 and per “Science on Tap” tradition will include one beverage, either non-alcoholic or a choice between beer and wine. Purchase online through snapd.
