Ergonomics on call to prevent back pain

Diane GregoryEmploying ergonomics knowledge to prevent back injury and pain is the subject of a free public lecture Friday, Oct. 4, on the UWindsor campus.

Diane Gregory, an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at Wilfrid Laurier University, will present “Bad Backs: What Can We Learn from Basic Science to Help Foster a Healthier Workplace?” at noon in room 144, Human Kinetics Building.

Dr. Gregory’s research is in the area of spine biomechanics with an emphasis on the intervertebral disc and spine injuries, but she holds a cross-appointment in health sciences and is highly involved in occupational biomechanics and ergonomics — and in particular, low back pain.

Friday’s lecture is presented by the Faculty of Human Kinetics as part of its Distinguished Speakers Series.
