Piano and woodwinds to take stage in faculty recital

A trio of musicians — pianist Philip Adamson, flutist Liesel Deppe, and oboist Faith Scholfield — will perform French chamber music in a recital Sunday, Jan. 26, in the Performance Hall, SoCA Armouries.

The faculty recital will feature:

  • Sonate pour hautbois et piano by Henri Dutilleux;
  • Sonatine pour flûte et piano by Pierre Sancan;
  • Trio for Flute, Oboe, and Piano by Madeleine Dring; and
  • Fantaisie concertante pour flûte et hautbois by Jules Demersseman.

“This program includes two better-known works of the 20th century French repertoire and two compositions which ought to be heard more frequently,” says Dr. Adamson. “One of these, it must be confessed, is not French in origin, but it is assuredly French in style and temperament.”
