Consortium offering to fast track access to computing platforms for COVID-19 research

An Ontario-based smart computing consortium has launched a COVID-19 Response that aims to provide fast and easy access to high-performance computing resources for industry-academic research partnerships.

Supporting this ongoing global health challenge demands significant computational capacity to provide infrastructure for projects in manufacturing, bioinformatics, molecular modeling, vaccine development, epidemiology, and more.

SOSCIP is inviting eligible projects to apply to its COVID-19 Response. If you have a project responding to the COVID-19 pandemic utilizing a computational approach, reach out to the Office of Research & Innovation Services or one of the research co-ordinators for more information.

Originally known as Southern Ontario Smart Computing for Innovation Platform, the SOSCIP consortium is a collaboration between Ontario’s research-intensive post-secondary institutions, IBM Canada, Ontario Centres of Excellence, and dozens of small- and medium-sized enterprises across the province.
