Ignite now accepting job proposals for 2020-21

Career Development & Experiential Learning (CDEL) has announced that job proposals for the 2020-21 Ignite Work Study program are now live.

Ignite is a co-curricular experiential learning program that funds part-time jobs at the University of Windsor. If approved for Ignite funding, supervisors can be reimbursed for a wage subsidy up to $1,000 per semester to hire an eligible student. The program is open to all UWindsor students — some restrictions apply; view the Ignite website for details.

“It’s a great opportunity for students to earn while also building their resumes with experience and skill,s” says Kerri Zold, manager of Career Development & Experiential Learning. “It’s a win-win for the units and departments across campus that secure funding through the program too — they get reimbursed for hiring costs while also benefitting from the fresh perspective and talent student employees bring to their roles.”

Proposals are being accepted through Qualtrics until noon Wednesday, July 22. Applicants whose positions receive funding will be notified by Aug. 28 and students can begin working as early as Sept. 8.

CDEL will be also be hosting supervisor information sessions on July 9 and 10 and questions can also be directed to Samantha Desrosiers at ignite@uwindsor.ca.
