“I am thrilled that we have someone of Matt’s skills and experience coming to join our team,” Flannagan said. “Our community will benefit tremendously as a result of Matt’s expert knowledge of community policing and his connections across the city and the province.”

The UWindsor community may recognize D’Asti from his time as the public information officer for Windsor Police, which saw him featured frequently in local news. His background also includes patrol, street crimes, criminal investigations, sexual assault, and analysis.

D’Asti studied criminology at the University of Windsor and is delighted to be returning to campus.

“Knowing the critical role that UWindsor plays in the local community and recognizing the importance that safety plays in the lives of students, staff, and faculty, I’m confident that we’ll be able to maintain the high level of service and support that Campus Community Police has delivered in recent years,” he said. “I’m looking forward to getting involved and trying to make a difference.”
