Campus joins in national commemoration of royal consort

Campus flags will be lowered Friday, April 16, in memory of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died April 9 at the age of 99.

In recognition of his outstanding service and contributions to Canada, he was presented with the insignia of Companion of the Order of Canada and Commander of the Order of Military Merit during a ceremony held in Toronto in 2013 — his last visit to the country.

The Government of Canada will hold a national commemorative ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Ottawa’s Christ Church Cathedral. The ceremony will be broadcast live and will include virtual tributes and performances.
