Program to help small businesses diversify

The University of Windsor Entrepreneurship, Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) is now accepting applications for its EPIC Nimble Program, which supports small businesses facing challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funded by FedDev Ontario under the Community Economic Development and Diversification stream program, it provides benefits of cash and services valued at over $5,000.

“With the rapid pace of the COVID 19 pandemic, many small businesses weren’t financially prepared for the economic hit,” said EPICentre director Wen Teoh. “This program aims to assist these businesses not only by providing them with additional funding but also mentorship and expert advice.”

Interested business owners must apply by June 20; successful applicants will be notified by June 25 and have until Dec. 17 to complete their proposed projects.

An online session will provide more information on Thursday, June 10. Admission is free; register here.

“Our goal is to collaborate with community partners, combining our knowledge and the tools we have to help sustain the small businesses that are the backbone of the Windsor-Essex community,” Teoh said.
