Mike MoffattBusiness professor Mike Moffatt of Western University will present a lecture entitled “Ontarians on the Move” on Thursday, July 8.

Relationship between population growth and housing prices subject of discussion

Starting in 2015, Ontario started to experience unusually rapid population growth. This growth largely went unnoticed, but fundamentally changed how and where residents live, work, and play, and sparked a housing price boom that continues to this day.

Business professor Mike Moffatt of Western University will discuss the repercussions in a free public presentation entitled “Ontarians on the Move” on Thursday, July 8.

Dr. Moffatt is the senior director at the Smart Prosperity Institute and an assistant professor in the business, economics, and public policy group at Ivey Business School. His talk is sponsored by Workforce WindsorEssex and hosted by UWindsor associate vice-president external Vincent Georgie as part of the Envision community speaker series, which offers thought-provoking discussion about what’s next in our post-COVID future.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the Microsoft Teams teleconferencing platform. A question-and-answer period will follow Moffatt’s formal presentation. Register to attend.
