Feedback sought on recommended standards for accessible postsecondary education

The Ontario government is seeking feedback on the proposed new postsecondary education accessibility standard under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

Anyone can provide feedback as individuals, departments, or organizations. The closing date to provide comment is September 29. To read the report and to learn how to provide a response, visit the consultation website.

“These pending changes will have an effect on the University, in a good way,” says accessibility manager Cherie Gagnon in the UWindsor Office of Human Rights, Equity and Accessibility. “The prevention and removal of barriers not only benefit students and employees with disabilities, but it’s better for everyone.”

She invites anyone interested in participating in drafting a response on behalf of the entire institution to contact OHREA at ohrea@uwindsor.ca.
