Promoting prosocial behaviour subject of colloquium

Sonya Xinyue Xiao, a postdoctoral scholar in the School of Social and Family Dynamics at Arizona State University, will discuss her research into moral development and intergroup attitudes during childhood in a public colloquium Thursday, March 10.

Dr. Xiao’s presentation, entitled “Understanding and Promoting Children’s and Adolescents’ Prosocial Behaviour toward Diverse Others,” will explore how individuals’ social identities — including the intersections of gender and ethnicity or race — relate to their ability to empathize.
