Library resources available to observe National Indigenous Languages Day

March 31 is National Indigenous Languages Day. Celebrated since 1993, this day is an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples to honour Turtle Island’s linguistic legacy.

Indigenous languages carry stories, wisdom, and traditions that are passed on from one generation to the next. They represent Indigenous cultures and histories. They connect families and communities and are essential to Indigenous cultures, self-identity, and well-being.

The Leddy Library invites patrons to explore its Indigenous language resource list, a curated subset of book and eBook titles found in its collection.
