Carol HofgartnerCarol Hofgartner, founder of the Detroit non-profit Art Road, will discuss her work to bring art class back to public schools Nov. 3.

Webinar to feature advocate for arts education

The next session in the Entrepreneurship SpeakHER Series will feature a woman whose non-profit organization is bringing a sense of joy and accomplishment through art to Detroit elementary school students.

Carol Hofgartner was invited to speak about her profession of architecture during a career day and learned the students did not have art class, inspiring her to found Art Road. Since 2004, its volunteers have brought art instruction to 20,000 pupils, enriching their lives and the community.

Presented by the Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) and funded by the U.S. Consulate General, the Entrepreneurship SpeakHER Series aims to empower post-secondary students, especially women, to consider entrepreneurship as a potential career path.

“Crossroads of Art and Social Impact with Carol Hofgartner” will run over Zoom at noon Thursday, Nov. 3. Register here to attend.
