Interactive piano and multimedia works on concert program

A concert Saturday, Nov. 12, presents four interactive piano and multimedia works that reimagine artistic expression through new technologies to create an immersive, theatrical, and cinematic experience.

In “Transformation,” pianist, multimedia performing artist, educator, and curator Megumi Masaki, a professor of music at Brandon University, explores new models of interaction between sound, image, text, and movement to augment the piano and its surrounding space as a visual as well as musical instrument.

Saturday’s performance is free and open to the public and will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Multimedia Studio, Alan Wildman Centre for Creative Arts. Find more details on the event webpage.

Masaki will also conduct a master class at noon on Sunday, Nov. 13, in the SoCA Armouries Performance Hall. The class runs for 90 minutes. The public is welcome to attend.
