Job proposals open for summer 2023 Ignite work-study program

The Ignite Work Study program is back for another round of funding summer jobs at the University of Windsor. Ignite job proposals for Summer 2023 must be submitted through Qualtrics, with an application deadline of March 24. Applicants whose positions receive funding will be notified by April 24.

The Ignite program is co-ordinated by the Office of Career Development and Experiential Learning in partnership with Student Awards and Financial Aid. The program is open to all UWindsor students who meet the criteria listed on the Ignite website.

This year’s summer Ignite includes the following details:

  • Supervisors approved for Ignite funding will be reimbursed up to $1,000 per position.
  • Ignite students working in the Winter 2023 semester can stay in the same role if they meet the Summer 2023 eligibility requirements, and if the role receives funding for the summer. Employers must still submit a job proposal for winter hires who are continuing in the summer. These students can begin work terms on May 1.

“We are pleased to be able to offer Ignite again this summer to create new opportunities for students, and continuity for departments and current Ignite students,” says Ronak Doowd, Ignite program co-ordinator. “Supervisors have expressed how valuable the program was to their projects and departments. Last year we had over 180 proposals submitted, and we’re looking forward to seeing a lot of quality proposals again this year.”

If you are new to Ignite, join one of the supervisor information sessions on:
Thursday, March 2, at 10 a.m. or Tuesday, March 14, at 3 p.m.
