Campus flags are lowered today in memory of retired food services worker Elizabeth Nehr, who died March 10. She commenced working at the University of Windsor in 1967 as general cafeteria help and retired from that position in 1985. A private family service has taken place. In “Introduction to the Safety Champion Role and Human Factors in Patient Safety,” Jeanette Tanafranca will discuss the role of human factors engineering, as well as contrast faulty systems to faulty individuals.
Tanafranca is a clinical quality facilitator and leads the safety champion program at Detroit’s Henry Ford Health System. Her presentation is set for noon to 1 p.m. in room 203, Toldo Health Education Centre.
Rita Irwin, professor of art education and curriculum studies and associate dean of teacher education at the University of British Columbia, will explore the research methodology, creative practice and performative pedagogy of “a/r/tography” in a free public colloquium Tuesday, March 27, at 5 p.m. in room 2222, Neal Education Building.
