Holiday luncheon a chillingly good time for faculty and staff

Professor emeritus Dick Moriarty says he enjoyed the stand-up format of the Big Chill holiday luncheon, Thursday in Vanier Hall.

“You got a chance to get around and talk to everyone,” he says. “I have seen colleagues who are retired, those who are still working, and some who don’t me as a professor—just as Sean’s dad.”

Dr. Moriarty—father of Sean Moriarty in Information Technology Services—also won a door prize draw for a night’s stay at the Hilton Hotel. He says his wife will help him to figure out how to use it.

Still time to join faculty and staff holiday party

The Holiday Big Chill is approaching, and catering manager Dean Kissner wants faculty and staff members to know it’s not too late to join the party.

There are still tickets available for the luncheon, Thursday, December 13 in Vanier Hall’s Winclare Room A. The event will take the form of a stand-up reception, with food stations featuring festive fare, and ample opportunity to converse with colleagues in a casual setting.

“Our faculty and staff guests will enjoy a beautiful holiday setting that is sure to put them in the spirit of the season,” Kissner says.

Surprises in store for holiday luncheon: caterer

Last year’s Mingle and Jingle holiday luncheon for faculty and staff was a great collegial event, says catering manager Dean Kissner—and he is hoping to top it this year.

With a theme of “The Big Chill,” this year’s holiday luncheon is set for noon Thursday, December 13, in Vanier Hall’s Winclare Room A.

“We have a lot of little holiday surprises planned,” says Kissner. “We don’t want to give away too much, because we want our guests to experience delight when they walk in.”

Holiday luncheon to take form of chilly reception

With a theme of “The Big Chill,” this year’s holiday luncheon for faculty and staff promises the company of colleagues in a casual setting, says catering manager Dean Kissner.

“We are doing the same type of stand-up reception as last year, with several new themed food stations,” he says. “Our guests will enjoy a festive holiday setting.”

The event will run from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, December 13, in Vanier Hall’s Winclare Room A. Admission is $10, which includes tax and a glass of wine.
