Alumni of 1969 Lancer Football team picked up the ball for head coach and are still running with it

Frank Renaud, Travis Durocher and Jonathan Langley are three student-athletes who will receive an academic scholarship of $4,000 each in a presentation at the football season home opener, Sunday, August 30, 1 p.m., at Alumni Field, thanks to UWindsor’s first football team.

East West Bowl to be webcast live

The East West Bowl, a showcase of more than 80 Canadian Interuniversity Sport football players, will be available to Windsor area fans live over the Internet.

The game will feature four Lancers: quarterback Austin Kennedy, receiver Evan Pszczonak, defensive lineman Stephon Miller and defensive back Josh Burns. It will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, on the campus of Western University.

Lancer coaches to serve community on McHappy Day

Don’t be surprised if you see a familiar face behind the free smile at McDonalds on Wednesday. A number of Lancer coaches and athletes will be serving lunch at the restaurant’s Huron Church Road location in support of McHappy Day, May 2.

The promotion sees $1 from every Big Mac sandwich, McMuffin sandwich and happy meal donated to Ronald McDonald House charities of Canada to improve the quality of life for children with serious or chronic illnesses or disabilities.
